“If Not You…Then Who?”

Dear Cursillistas,

Can you still
remember the feelings you experienced when you were a cherished Guest at the
Banquet? Your growing awareness of God’s
grace? Your experience of the Presence
of Jesus and the depth of His love for you?
Looking back on your Banquet, can you say that it has changed the way you
are living your life?

Indian Prairie
Men’s and Women’s Great Banquet Weekends are coming up October 13-16 and October
20-23. As of this month, less than ten
Guests have been registered for each.
Many more than that have been invited, but as our Lord has taught
us, most people are too busy to
come.

St. Paul wrote
to the Romans, “How are they to believe
in One of Whom they have not heard? And
how are they to hear without someone to proclaim Him?” (Rom. 10:14). For many if not most of those who came to the
Banquet, God’s love in Christ through the power of the Spirit will decisively
change their lives. But how will this
happen if they are not first invited?
And if you will not invite them—who will?

I am asking in
Christ’s name that each of you prayerfully focus on someone in your sphere of
influence who is carrying a burden, struggling with their faith or seeking a
deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Will you undertake to pray for this person this week? Will you consider inviting him or her to the
Banquet? Will you, in other words, “stand in the gap?”

Remember, you
are a forgiven and cherished member of the Body of Christ. Christ is making His appeal to the world
through you. And if not you…then
who?

It is time to Make Agape…any time during the year is fine. Family Fun can be had in all sorts of ways and making a family Agape night is just as fun as going to the movies. Well it depends on what’s playing and wether or not you have popcorn an soda at home. All agape gifts are welcome Thru out the year. We want to shower our guests with agape love and what better way than through small gifts given from the heart. These agape gifts can be placed in the marked tub in the office or if the Banquet is in session delivered during the weekends to the Agape room (the parlor). God’s Love and Ours
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

Remember these after banquet words, from the 4th Day Party and how they fit with you today.

The Prayer of Faith
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

Thanks from all of us for your incredible leadership in preparing for and conducting this truly Great Banquet. All your many acts of service to the Lord’s kingdom before and during this banquet, are truly an inspiration to the rest of us.

My fellow brothers in Christ,

There are no words that I can use to adequately express my love and appreciation to each of you for the sacrifice and hard work you did this past weekend. WHAT a team God created to bring his love and grace to our guests. All I can say, from deep in my heart, is what an extreme honor and privilege it was for me to serve with you. I was humbled by each of your efforts, which was God’s personal message to me, humility.

The cross that was presented to me is the only ‘earthly’ thing I prize. And a portion of it belongs to each one of us because we were a team of God’s disciples.

The Spirit at Knox

Ron, And Community

It was such a blessing and an encouragement to be given the gift to see Jesus at Knox. I pray God would continue to use the vehicle of the Great Banquet to bring people to Him and the people of Knox to steward this movement. Thank you for being a humble servant to get continue to make room for the Holy Spirit. I am grateful to call you brother in Christ and now to have more brothers at Knox.
